Health

Dear Parent/Carer,

If head lice are noted in your child’s class, we will notify you by letter. Would you then please carefully check your child’s hair and if you find any live lice, the following options are available.

You may choose to use a lotion that remains on the hair for a 6-12 hour period and one that is alcohol free. If your child has asthma, or severe skin condition, you can get a prescription from your own doctor or practice nurse.

It is important to ensure you follow product guidelines.

After the first 12 hour treatment wet comb the hair every day until 2nd treatment 7 days later. Remember it is important to re-treat.

If you would like to discuss this matter with a school nurse, they are available for advice and support at the Hart Buildings, University Hospital of Hartlepool (tel: 01429 522718) each week day between 8.30am - 9.15am and 4pm – 4.30pm term time only.

Yours sincerely,

Mr C. Connor

Headteacher
