Our Reception children loved having all of their loved ones in school as part of their unit of work on the story 'Guess How Much I Love You'. Thank you all for making it such a wonderful time.
It was wonderful to see you all in our nursery today. Thank you for all of your support and we hope you enjoyed spending time with us.
Nursery enjoyed a visit from our local librarian, Pam, this week. We listened to a story all about a super banana, sang some lovely songs and even made our very own super bananas to take home. We can't wait to take part in more sessions with Pam over the next 5 weeks.
It has been an absolute pleasure to see how much the children’s confidence has grown so far in our balance bike sessions. Our instructor, Adam, is very impressed with how well our Reception children have been listening and following instructions. Their hard work and determination is evident in their progress.
Our Reception children have amazed us with their fantastic art work, inspired by the story ‘Walking Through the Jungle’. The children selected from a choice of paint, pastels, and pencils. We are so proud of how independent the children were in their choices. The end results look amazing on our new classroom displays. Well-done Children!
Our Reception children have loved finding out and learning all about Chinese New Year. They enjoyed learning about the story of the Jade Emperor and the animal race, finding out which animal year it is for 2023, and which animal year it was when they were born. We found out about how people prepare for, and celebrate Chinese New Year. Our learning concluded with a banquet of Chinese Food. The children loved trying the food, with some children asking parents if they could cook and to try more Chinese food at home!
The story ‘Walking Through the Jungle’ by Julie Lacome, was brought to life by our Reception children using singing, accompanied by a wide range of percussion instruments to retell the story. The children got to perform for an audience of Year2 children too. Mrs Robinson and Mrs Sibly were very impressed!
Nursery had a wonderful time taking part in Pen Disco today. We enjoyed using the dancing scarves to practise up and down movements and then used a big roll of paper to make marks using up and down strokes.
Nursery made the most of the windy weather at the end of January and explored how the wind felt and the way in which it can blow different items. The children created their own kites and investigated how they could move them in different ways to make them fly high and low.
To celebrate Chinese New Year, children in Nursery held a banquet to sample some Chinese food. They also took part in some activities to celebrate the year of the Rabbit.
