Hi, I’m Ms Low one of the Year 4 teachers.
It seems strange to be saying goodbye to all of you after such a short time together. As I got to talk to most of you on the telephone, I was pleased to hear you were all staying safe and exploring new skills and hobbies. I am so proud of each and every one of you and I know how hard you have worked this year, something I know you will continue to do next year with your new teacher.
Turning to next year, I have heard what amazing children you all are and I look forward to having you in my class. There are so many exciting opportunities and subjects to study over the next year. I will enjoy hearing all of the stories from your holidays.
Hi I'm Mr Birtwistle one of the Year 4 teachers.
Hello Year 4. This is a final thank you for everything for the year. It is a real shame that the year has been cut short but I have really enjoyed all of my time with you. I still look forward to seeing you all next year around school and can not wait to hear how you progress in Year 5 and beyond.
To my class next year, I am really looking forward to meeting you all in September. I have already seen such good things in your class assemblies and I am sure that you will continue to be a fantastic. Have a lovely summer and I will see you all soon.
Hi, I’m Mrs Stirk.
I have supported in Year 4 for the last two years. It is very unusual to be saying goodbye to you all across the internet, but with the current circumstances there is no other option. You have been an amazing year group who I have thoroughly enjoyed supporting. It has been a pleasure to watch you grow in your learning. I look forward to hearing a lot of positive things about you in Year Five.
Next year, I will continue to support in Year 4 in Mr Birtwistle’s classroom and I have heard you are all awesome. I cannot wait to meet you.
Hi Everyone,
Miss Thompson here, I have missed you all so very much. I am so looking forward to working with you again in Year 4. Have a brilliant summer and I will see you in September.
As a team, supporting each other, we can achieve great things and we are sure you will excel in all aspects over the coming year. Enjoy your summer every one and continue to stay safe, see you all in September.
Ms Low, Mr Birtwistle, Mrs Stirk and Miss Thompson.
Spooky setting description
As the cold, hard, crooked headstones rested against the murky tree an ice-cold wind tumbled through the branches. The moon looked as white as snow as it sent down a frozen beam of glimmering light. Next to the trees, stood rotten bushes as big as a building. Owls tooting gave the lifeless cemetery a horrifying shake making weathered leaves rustle. As 12 o’clock struck, deafening thunder pounded against the headstones whilst silent lightening snaped branches sending them tumbling to the ground. Although the thunder began to stop, the rain continued to bounce off the neglected bath, shaking the bones of the dead.

Book Review of 'The Magic Finger' by Roald Dahl
This book is about a family, two brothers called William and Phillip and their mother and father, Mr and Mrs Gregg. The girl who lived next door put the magic finger on the full family for shooting the ducks and the deer. I liked this story because it was very entertaining and in some parts emotional. I liked the authors thought for this story because it was a bit funny seeing the ducks having arms and the children and the parents having wings. And it was a bit of a mystery how the girl had a magic finger.
Book Review No.2 - Lucky Charlie Bucket
This story is about a boy named Charlie Bucket and his family, they were all very poor. But one day Mr Wonka made some chocolate and put five golden tickets in some of them. Charlie found a fifty pence on the floor and bought two chocolate bars, the second one had a golden ticket inside. This story was a shorter version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I liked the adjectives that the author used to describe how cold it was or how he opened the wrapper. It was very emotional how they were poor. And why were they poor?

Hello Year 4. As we enter the final week of term we would both like to say a massive thank you to parents/ carers for everything you have done during this home learning period. It has been an incredibly challenging time but we are so grateful for the positive responses and support you have given. It is so wonderful to see all the great work that the children are producing. We have attached a range of activities this week which children can continue over the holidays should they want to. Have a brilliant summer and thank you for a fantastic year.
